What's Happening in Madison in March 2019?

Posted by Kelly Holck on Wednesday, February 27th, 2019 at 4:42pm.

It's cold.

That's the #1 complaint I get while I'm bartending at my nighttime gig. That's also when I typically figure out that the person I'm speaking to is not a Madison native.

Us Dane County Dwellers know that the cold is still here for at least a couple more months. We know that there has been colder weather #polarvortex2019. We know that, because it's only February, it's useless to spend our time waiting for the seemingly elusive summer weather. That being said, I decided it was time for another post covering the winter-proof events in Madison in the next month, so that none of you have the excuse to drop off the face of Wisconsin until warmer, sunnier times.

Prizes for best chili include up to $200.00 cash prize for the judge's top pick and $100.00 to the people's choice winner. As an attendee, you're urged to try each chili, then vote on your favorite. If you don't feel like paying the full $10.00 to attend, then head over to the Essen Haus facebook page for three different ways you can save money on admission!
