I know I've said it before, but this time I mean it: Spring is HERE!
According to AccuWeather, this is what the next week and a half is looking like:
That's right, it's going to actually get close to 70 degrees this weekend! That means it's time to start being an "active" member of life again. When I say "active", I don't mean you actually have to start working out, you just need to pretend like you participate in things that occur outside your front door.
That being said, read on for your full list of Kelly Approved Events over the next month.
When: Saturday, April 6th at 8AM Where: Meet at the KEVA Sports Center in Middleton What: This is just a reminder that the Beat the Blues Cruise from last week's blog post is this Saturday! Don't forget to register so you can walk/run to Beat the Blues!
When: Saturday, April 6th at 3PM Where: Registration along with wristband / schwag pickup is from 3-5PM at Red Rock Saloon downtown Madison. What: Come wearing your best high top sneakers and hair scrunchies for this authentic 90s style bar crawl. There's no particular crawl route so go to any of the participating bars during the event to receive drink specials. You must have your ticket at registration! When: Thursday, April 25th at 8PM Where: Orpheum Theatre in Madison What: Show up to one of the few events in adulthood where laughing at completely inappropriate and otherwise unbecoming subjects, stories, and statements is encouraged. In case you're one of the few humans on earth who are unfamiliar with the hilarity of her work, take a gander. Tickets are currently starting at $94.32 on StubHub and $87.00 on Ticketmaster.
Madison Craft Beer Week 2019
When: April 26th through May 5th Where: Select participating breweries, restaurants, pubs, caterers, retailers, and other businesses in the craft beer community - participants will be announced on their website in the next few days! What: This 10 day celebration that spans over two weekends, is a festival of craft beer. There will be events ranging from beer tastings, beer dinners, bar promotions, brewery shindigs, beer walks, and more. They plan to announce the events and participating locations at some point this week, so keep an eye on their website for more details!
When: Saturday, April 27th at 6PM Where: BarleyPop Live! - a new music venue in downtown Madison that took over the old home of the Frequency! Their grand opening is April 13th so you'll get to see it in all of its new glory. What: This unique party is a beer and album release COMBO! At 6PM, the collaboration keg of Ctrl+Alt+Wheat shall be tapped and then at 9PM the live music shenanigans commence. I'm telling you right now: you won't want to miss the one-of-a-kind, hilarious tunes of Help Desk. And if Schmoolio and Not Dead Yet are even half as good as my Help Desk pals, this is going to be quite the jam sesh.
Madison's Best Bloody
When: Sunday, April 28th starting at 11:30AM Where: The Edgewater Hotel on Lake Mendota What: A hangover's dream! Roll out of bed and head to the Edgewater to vote for your favorite Bloody Mary in Madison. You'll get to sample bloodies from all participants, follow each sample up with a classic Wisconsin beer chaser, and, in the meantime, snack on the complimentary appetizers. A raffle with tons of great prizes will be offered as well as a barrel-of-booze drawing. Tickets start at $35.00/person or $15.00 for designated drivers; you can buy them here.
And, that's a wrap.
Keep in mind, these are not all of the events in Madison for the month of April. These are simply my favorites, and what I was able to type up before my recently broken wrist gave up on me.
If this list of events wasn't enough for you and you want to get your weekends filled, head over to Isthmus, EventBrite, Destination Madison, or Google "Events in Madison" and you should be able to book your calendar solid for the next year.
