Feel the Love

For those of you who are unaware, one of the biggest money makers for both chocolate companies and florists is next week: Valentine's Day, or as some of my friends like to call it, Singles Awareness Day.

Disclaimer for the latter: Singles Awareness Day is actually February 15th. Don't worry my single friends, there's an entire day dedicated to celebrating you.

Whatever you like to refer to it as, it's a week to celebrate and appreciate the ones you love. If you're anything like me, when you celebrate, there should be copious amounts of good food involved.

Lucky for us Dane County dwellers, there are a ton of really great restaurants to choose from for an occasion as so.

If you'd like to learn more about the establishment, click on the name to be directed to the website.

122 W Mifflin St, Madison, WI 53703

If you haven't been to Cento before, then you're in for quite the treat. With over 150 wine bottles available for purchase, and 20 (plus) wines poured by the glass, there's something for every type of wine lover. The food menu is made up of a selection of entirely original dishes that will undoubtedly satisfy your taste buds. The classy, serene ambiance is derived from the low lighting and lack of music; this restaurant lives and thrives within itself. If you want to dine and romance your loved one, then Cento is the perfect setting.

The three course Valentine's Day special allows you to choose from a variety of options: five appetizers, six entrees, and five desserts. The $65.00/person rate does not include tax, beverage, or tip so don't forget to bring a few extra bukcs to tip your server/bartender! Click the image for the special menu.

Yet another restaurant for the romantics, Forequarter is one of a kind. It may be a small space, but it has a lot to say for itself. The menu changes daily so there's always opportunity for a new favorite meal. The cocktail options are designed by true drink artists; I guarantee you've never seen or tasted anything like them. The candles lit at every table create an intimate aura, a staple for a lover's Valentine's dinner. Their Valentine's Day menu is an extra add-on as they also offer their "regular" dinner menu on the big day.

If you're too busy to make dinner commitments at Forequarter on Thursday, then check out their post-Valentine's Day celebration below. Click the photo to claim your spot at Dinner with Underground Butcher.

Known for their sushi, RED exceeds dining expectations. The elegant plate presentation will surely "wow" your Valentine. The trendy, bold restaurant is located right by the Capitol in downtown Madison. Though they don't offer their regular menu on Valentine's Day, their special Valentine's Dinner menu looks nothing short of incredible. Once you make your reservations at RED, be prepared for taste bud overload.

Eno Vino Downtown

1 N Webster St, Madison, WI 53703

Here's another downtown Madison gem. Located on the tenth floor of the AC Hotel, you have a clear view of the Capitol no matter where you sit. Their wine options are plentiful, phenomenal, and all pair perfectly with their food offerings.

If you're still not convinced of the magnificence of Eno Vino, then listen up. Though I've not gone there for a romantic dinner, I have been for a girl's night. We were literally tempted to drink a glass of wine in the bathroom because of the meticulous beauty and comfort of their interior design.

While I was doing my due diligence in researching where you can get the best lovers' grub, I was informed that tables are filling up fast. So, if you're not on your game like the rest of the lovebirds in Dane County are, then get on it and make your reservations now through OpenTable.

In case you forgot, Valentine's isn't the only day next week that's all about love: Galentine's Day falls on Wednesday as well!

Sure, you can celebrate by going out to dinner at one of the aforementioned, delicious establishments OR you can cherish the other loves of your life by heading to an event that's a little more interactive and lively.

3248 University Ave, Madison, WI 53705

This Saturday, February 9th, attend a cooking show where you get to be the judge! The vomFASS - delecTable chef and his culinary team will prepare a five course meal, with each course expertly paired to a wine or cocktail by the mixologist and sommelier crew.

Melting Pot

6816 Odana Rd, Madison, WI 53719

Galentine's Day

Celebrate girlfriend love by going to the Melting Pot this Galentine's Day, February 13th. Dip your favorite foods in your favorite cheese and chocolate sauces. No reservation is required!

Lunch with your Little Love

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, go to Melting Pot with your kiddo for a kid's eat free event! A three course fondue menu offered from noon until 4:00PM, this is the perfect time to show your little one the Valentine's love they deserve.

Revel Valentine's Day Mixer

107 N Hamilton St, Madison, WI 53703

Instead of eating a dinner by candlelight that may not be in your budget, go to Revel for an interactive evening of love. There are a variety of activities to keep the night fun and plenty of wine to go around. The event is on Valentine's Day from 6:00-9:00PM at the Revel studio, but that doesn't mean you need to bring a significant other. Go with friends, lovers, or by yourself, if you so please!

The $40.00 ticket includes all of the activities and tastings listed (below). There will also be drinks and additional snacks available for purchase.

These are only a few of the delectable restaurants serving special dinners and just a portion of the events offered throughout Madison during the week of love. For more ideas of places to eat or things to do, check out one of the websites I like referring to when setting plans: EventBrite, Isthmus, or OpenTable.
