In case you haven't been keeping up with the blog or our social media pages, we recently hosted a pool for the Men's Division 1 Basketball Competition.
Monday night, Virginia took the National Championship title which meant that several people in our pool had their hearts broken and their bracket busted. If you were one of those with a broken heart, then I'm here to tell you that there is always a plus side. I mean, you could be Andrew Gudermuth.
Anyway, no matter how bad some of the bracket predictions may have been, we still had some participants who pulled through with some pretty accurate brackets.
The person who came in first place in our pool had three out of the four correct teams going to the Final Four! Then theres me, who picked Buffalo to win it all.
Needless to say, I didn't win any prizes this go-around.
Honestly, I didn't care too much about the prizes though (and I'm not really that into sports so what'd you expect). I was more excited about why we hosted this competition, which was to benefit an organization we are extremely passionate about: Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. Therefore, we have been asking for donations all throughout the March Madness basketball competition in hopes of reaching our goal of feeding 18,000 people AKA raising $6,000.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to reach that number. But, there's still time! If you'd like to help us reach our goal, click here to donate. Every dollar gives three meals to hungry people in our community.
Now, getting back to our competition. Because it's fun to host tournaments and give out prizes, we wanted to share our excitement with you and announce our top three finalists in our basketball bracket competition.
In third place, we had Abe Haupt, who gets to enjoy stadium hot dogs and beers as he watches the Brewers take on the Rockies at the end of the month!
Sliding into second base was Rick Esser, who will be donning some sweet Under Armour gear from Zander Solutions! Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to make it to the Brewers game, so chose to snag the schwag instead.
If you're currently slapping yourself because you didn't sign up to compete in our pool or because you simply had a bum bracket: do not fret. We will have plenty of other competitions in the future with more great prizes.
Don't be like my friends who, after finding out about the giveaways we had were all "Kelly, why didn't you tell me!" Instead, follow us on Facebook and be the first to find out about competitions, giveaways, and all things Madison Neighborhoods Real Estate Team.
Or fill out the form below to be added to our email list!
Thank you to everyone who joined our pool and a BIG thank you to those who donated. Your generosity is more appreciated than you know!
