Sun is out with temperatures on the rise. It is finally starting to look like summer. Do you know if your insurance will cover damage to your home and/or belongings in case of water backup?

If you're not sure, it's possible your homeowner policy would fail you if your drains or sewage system backed up. In order to be paid out on damage due to water backup, you typically need to opt in specifically for that coverage.

One of the perks of being in real estate is that, after seeing your fair share of houses, you learn what works in a home and what doesn't. 


Sure, the above photos are pretty obvious. And any Kathy on the street may know she wants a colonial style home with a swimming pool in the backyard.
